1. Pinterest

This network just drives me confused. The more it drives me confused, the more it drives traffic to my blog. Pinterest could be your major traffic source if you know how to treat it like one.

Why Pinterest? Why can’t we use the other social networks? Well, there’s a reason behind it!

If you have a Facebook or an Instagram account, you go online just to post pictures or talk to your friends. Or probably something that is not profitable!

But, Pinterest is totally different. If people log in to Pinterest, they are definitely in need of some information.
NO ONE logs in to Pinterest just for wasting their time. Even if they do, that is inconsiderate! Anyways, I haven’t seen anyone posting their pictures as pins on Pinterest to date.

This is the importance of this meaningful social network. Every pin here takes you to some kind of data or knowledge on a particular topic. You, basically, make pins on Pinterest for posts that you want people to read.

What are the pins? Pins are simply visual, though attractive, version of your blog title. For example, look at this pin below:

at it? The answer is simple, this pin directs a person from Pinterest to a blog post called “How to make your Pinterest pins go viral”.

Don’t you find it attractive? I’m sure you do.

The positive fact about Pinterest is that you don’t need to have a whole lot of followers in order to increase your blog traffic. Pinterest works on SEO and, in case you’re wondering, very basic SEO.

Pinterest SEO is not that difficult to master as you don’t have to wait for thousands of years like you have to do in Google SEO.

Currently, I don’t have my own course on Pinterest strategies. Although, I learned everything about Pinterest SEO by reading this ebook: Pinteresting Strategies.

Note: This ebook is written by a blogger that gets OVER 200k pageview every month from Pinterest. So if you want to increase your blog traffic, I suggest you read this book.

2. Guest Posting

This is the most basic blogging tip to increase your blog traffic. The principle of guest posting is getting yourself out in front of a readymade audience.

Trust me, it really is a great way to attract a whole new audience to your blog. Basically, all you do is feature your best content on a big blog. If people like that content, they are definitely gonna want to read more of your articles.

So eventually, the audience of that particular blog can also turn into your blog audience through guest posting. Well, did you now understand the concept of guest posting? Did you understand how guest posting can help you to increase your blog traffic?

It is the same as linking your one post to another. Let’s say I have an article on “Affiliate Marketing on Pinterest”. Here, I teach people how to earn money through affiliate marketing on Pinterest without even a blog.

After reading it and finding it knowledgeable, I suppose that people would absolutely want to know about the best affiliate programs.

So all I would do is link my another article on “the 10 best affiliate programs” to this post. Just like this, you could link your blog to a guest post.

Guest posting results in establishing relations with famous bloggers in your niche. I guess it is one of the most important tasks to do.

Anyways, make sure you guest post your most valuable content so that huge traffic gets attracted to your blog. By posting high-quality content on leading blogs, you could generate a consistent traffic for a lifetime.

I bet you now know how crucial guest posting is!

3. Set up your Blog for Massive Traffic

Trust me, there are millions of people reading blogs every day for solving their problems. According to me, all you need to do is create a pathway for these people and let them in.

But before letting them in, you need to make sure your space is enough. I have seen many sites go down due to excessive traffic generation.

So, before you reach out to this huge number of people, get your blog done. Make sure your blog can withhold this traffic and let people experience some good things on your blog.

Don’t invite them to crap. You can know yourself if your site looks crap. I know this could hurt but please know that free themes are pure shit.

They look so bad and make people think that the particular blog is not good. For instance, ask yourself, do you stay on a site that resembles crap?

Of course not! You’d close it back and open some other website in place of it. I am sure I proved my point. So if you want people to actually like your blog and consider coming back, then your theme should be great.

The fact is good themes (or any other tool) is always paid. You cannot get good stuff for free. So here, my suggestion would be Soledad themes or Divi themes. I love how my site looks and other sites that have these themes installed.

4. Churning out Content

Writing posts more frequently is necessary. You need to improve your ability to create content and post more times a week.

According to me, posting at least 10 posts every month is enough. Well, it is really good to post 10 times a month. if you’re doing this, you’re already on your way to increase your blog traffic.

Note (This is for people who haven’t launched their blog yet, but are planning to do so):

Don’t ever launch your blog with just 5 posts published. This is the dumbest thing you could do.

Instead, don’t launch and spend at least two months creating content. Write down 30 good posts on topics that are trending and then launch. Also before launching, proofread them and edit.

Don’t ever post un-edited articles on your blog!

I’ve seen many bloggers suggesting to write around 1000 words per day in order to meet posting requirements. And I find this a really awesome way to create content.

Also, I suggest you write around 1000 words/day first and then focus on anything else. Although, I’m doing it in a completely different way.

I write and edit an article in a single day, whether it is a 3000-word article or a 6000-word article. I have this habit of completing a post in one day and then focus on other things the next day.

If you can do this, I would suggest you try this technique. Or else, just write 1000 words/day like everyone does.

5. Apply SEO strategies for long terms

For Pinterest users, it’s not so difficult to get traffic. Because they are not completely dependent on Google traffic. Or they are not waiting for their post to rank in search rankings.

They already have a good reach on Pinterest. But if you do not understand the Pinterest SEO game, and want your blog to bloom with SEO, you need to work hard.

It is more than difficult to increase your blog traffic with the help of SEO. But, I’m here to ease it up for you.

The two mantras for SEO are: Keywords and Backlinks

I’m sure you know what both of these are. But let me help you recall. Basically, a keyword is a word or phrase or concept of great significance. Now while writing a post, there’s this topic the whole post is based on.

For example, this article (the one you’re reading) is based on the concept, ways to increase your blog traffic. I’m sure that now if you notice, you might find this phrase “increase your blog traffic” very frequently.

It is because this phrase is the keyword for my blog post. I use it in many places in order to tell Google, what this post is all about. Once Google learns what this post has to tell, it’ll start ranking it.

Plus, if this post is really helpful, it might also get on the first page. But stuffing keywords is a very delicate task. You just can’t go on and on stuffing them in your articles.

You have to keep it natural!

Professional Tip:

Install Yoast SEO plugin. This plugin is all you need for improving your SEO game.

For this particular post, Yoast SEO is giving me some instructions in order to get my post SEO ready. It would simply rank your post based on how nicely you follow its instructions.

I never publish an article until it is ranked as “good” by Yoast SEO. So if you want to improve your SEO over time and increase your blog traffic (keyword), start using the Yoast SEO plugin.

6. Social Media Presence

If you want to earn some serious money out of your blog, maintaining your social media presence is important. It is like reaching out to your audience for your own good.

Relationships never grow until they are maintained and took care of. Same is with your audience. If you want people to buy something from you, they need to know you.

Let me give you a totally different example.

There are thousands of shops selling the same product in the same market. I mean all of those shops are selling clothes at the same place. Now, where would you go shopping?

Your answer might be – to anyone.

Now in the same situation, there’s a person you’re connected with in some sorts, where would you go?

You will definitely go to that person. Why? Because of the connection. Similarly, it is very important to connect with your audience and social media is the best place to do so.

I believe I proved my point!

Note: Fashion, Health & Fitness and Food blogs work better at Instagram. On the other hand, lifestyle, parenting, blogging blogs work better on Facebook. See what you’ve got.

7. Free e-books and tutorials

Free tutorials and e-books can be really useful to increase your blog traffic and generating extra income. These resources catch the attention of people if you are willing to offer them for free. I mean who wouldn’t want a good amount of valuable information for free.

Tutorials which are related to web development, SEO, blogging, online marketing, etc are really popular. You could get thousands of viewers by placing these resources on certain websites online.

Also, there are websites that will love to pay you anywhere between $100 to $150. It will only happen if your resources happen to be really great.

How do these sites reach us? Well, this is a question everyone might be having right now. Fortunately, there are a bunch of free sites which offer you to post your resources. People can download them from these sites and read them.

If a site owner loves any of your resources, they’ll possibly reach out to you and make an offer for your e-book or tutorial via email. Below are some free sites to share your e-books and tutorials:

1. Tutoralized.com
2. Good-tutorials.com
3. free-ebooks.net
4. bookyards.com
5. amazon.com (kindle edition)

Choose any one of the above sites and post your resources there for free. If people love your ebook or tutorial, they’ll definitely visit your blog. That is why e-books and tutorials are one of the best free sources to increase your blog traffic.

8. Post comments

No one would have ever known that posting genuine comments on high-traffic websites might bring wonders. It is a very efficient method of attracting other blog’s traffic to your blog.

But remember this, being a spammer and posting meaningful comments are two different things.

WordPress has a powerful plugin called Akismet which shoves off all the spam comments from sites. So basically, a great proportion of websites have this plugin already enabled.

Ask yourself, what is the need for spamming if you could post genuine comments?

If you can do it right, comments are a great way to build your brand. There are amazing benefits of posting comments on others blogs.

I’ve listed some of them below:

1. You’ll be striking some amazing content that might blow ideas for your own articles.

2. You’ll be reaching out to another blogger which might result in building relationships.

3. You’ll have an idea of what other bloggers in your niche are doing.

4. You’ll be laying a path back to your blog for the traffic of that blog.

See! There are great benefits to commenting on blogs in your niche. You don’t need to worry about getting penalized. As soon as your comments are meaningful, you won’t get spammed.

I learned that Neil Patel (another great blog) earned 3,973 visitors for leaving 249 comments on different sites. You could do this too.

Posting a comment doesn’t mean posting “nice post” or “great”. Instead, you should post a comment that might spark a conversation. This will pop your name in the comments and most people may notice you.

Professional Tip: Try to be the first one to comment on popular blogs!

End Point

If you go on finding more ways to increase your blog traffic, I bet there might be hundreds of them. There might be different bloggers sharing different information on this particular topic.

I’m not saying what they have to say is not knowledgeable. All I want to say is that you don’t need a thousand ways to increase your blog traffic. Instead, if you start implementing these basic strategies, you’ll soon find your blog blooming.

I hope you might have made notes. And if you haven’t, then make some right now. Start implementing these tips and increase your blog traffic.

Also, don’t ever hope to get results on the very second day after you implemented these steps. Things like growing audience take time.

All you need to do is be consistent. Create content. Post more frequently. Connect with your audience. Nourish your email list. Then see how your blog’s going to bloom.

Anyways, share this post as much as you can. Comment below if you find something not right or if you want to suggest another tip to increase your blog traffic. See you in my next article!

Peace Out
